What I Ate Wednesday – 30th of May

Today I am writing my first ‘What I Ate Wednesday’ blog post. I thought I would just keep it fairly simple. Let me know what you think. Keep in mind that I do intermittent fasting, this is why some of my mealtimes may seem a bit late or close together. I’m not strict with it per say and I’m not really doing it for health benefits or losing weight, it just so happens to work for me and I find that I am grazing/snacking less, all-around eating a bit less and it fits in with my schedule.

Breakfast -11:00am

I typically eat breakfast after my morning shift and have gone to the gym which is usually around 11am.

Today I made Avocado and Scrambled egg on whole grain toast with siracha. My scrambled eggs aren’t anything fancy just a splash of water, seasoning and a good mix and then I pop them in the microwave for 30-second intervals until they are cooked.

Lunch- 12:45pm

For lunch, I had a vegetable soup with beans and pasta which, I prepped last week along with many of my other lunch/dinner meals.

Snack – 2:00pm

My new favourite snack bar/muesli bar is the Barley + 7 seed bars by Freedom Foods. I’m not big on muesli bars with fruit in them so when I found these I was keen to try them. For a muesli bar with little sugar in it is hard to find but these are just the ones. Needless to say, I was not disappointed

Dinner – 6:30pm

For dinner, it was another already prepared meal. It was Chilli con Carne with avocado and coriander.

Dessert – 7:20pm


I very rarely go a night without a cup of tea. Tonight I was just about ready for bed so I didn’t want anything too much. I opted for 2 gingernut biscuits, which are one of my favourites.

Sunday Sessions – Getting ready for the week ahead

Does anyone else love being productive on Sundays?  I find that getting ready for the week ahead on Sundays and taking time to relax helps me feel a lot better about the week and it gives me time to figure out what I need to do.

For a while, I used to make the most of my weekends by being out all weekend and then it would get to Sunday night and I would realise I haven’t washed my uniform or I was meant to print something out and we don’t have any ink… this made me feel stressed and it wasn’t how I wanted to start my week.

Now I like using Sunday as a day to slowly get back into the week. My day usually consists of doing the washing, eating clean, relaxing and taking a bath, cleaning my room, maybe squeeze in a quick gym session and probably a nap.

I start the day by making my bed and cleaning my room (usually ends up being the only day I make my bed haha), putting my laundry in the wash. I do all of this almost straight away then it gets it out of the way and I have the rest of the day to do as I please. Today I didn’t have anything planned so it has been a very relaxing day. It was also raining, so it was nice just to chill at home and not have to go anywhere.IMG_2294

My washing is done so I have a uniform ready for work tomorrow, I meal prepped last week so I have lunch and dinner organised for the next couple of days and my room is clean.

Having all this done and the week hasn’t even started is a great way to go into the week. I feel relaxed and I still have time to do this for myself.



I’m not saying you have to spend every Sunday getting ready and missing out on doing things, but I just find that if I know I have a busy week I like to keep at least Sunday afternoons free so I am not in a rush to get things done.

The Journey Begins

Today is the Day!

I’ve started this blog as kind of life journey diary. I’m at a point in my life where I don’t really know what I want to do next. I thought writing a blog would help me connect with people around the world and find inspiration from others to help inspire myself and others with their life journeys.

For now, I think I am going to start with writing about my fitness goals/journey as this is something that I want to work on this year – that being my fitness, it’s not so much a weight goal but a feeling better about myself goal and getting toned. I’ll also write about some of the things that help me stay motivated and on track towards my goals.

I’ve always been someone with quite a strong mindset. If I say I am going to do something I tend to stick with it. I am also someone who will do it then and there rather than doing it say next week or next month. Id rather just get it over with or give it a go before I start thinking of reasons not to do it. The only thing I need to work on is my motivation in the long run, I may start something then and there but I don’t tend to stick with it in the long run or I’ll restart my goal multiple times and never commit to it the first time.

SO with that being said I hope I can commit to this blog and find that motivation with the help of you all and we can work together to help each other with our goals.
